The Oscars: Beauty Edition

Are you having one of those existential life moments when you are bored of your daily look, you want to change but not a dramatic one, you look for hair inspiration, but only see either crazy coloured hair or boring same old stuff?

Well believe it or not, the Oscars was one of the key events this season to check on the new trends for Spring/Summer. So look no further than the red carpet for looks and don’t be afraid to introduce them into your daily ‘mortal’ life.

1. The casual wavy bob with strong lips:

As sported by Margot Robbie or Solange Knowles.  It doesn’t matter if you opt for a long or short bob or the texture of your hair (love Solange’s big hair), this cut will frame your face giving you a very chic feel. A strong lip will just add that last touch, keep the make-up on your eyes low key.

2. The effortless up do with mute make-up and bright skin:

A la Cate Blanchett or Felicity Jones. A natural look is a must this season. Take good care of your skin and apply a foundation with a touch of shimmer, highlight the key areas – here are some more tips for a natural look – and finish it off with a nude lipstick. A ‘messy’ low bun in the nape of your neck and you’re all done!

3. The natural make-up with polished hair and statement earrings:

Beautifully pioneered by Reese Witherspoon or Gwyneth Paltrow.  A subtle smokey eye in brown tones and a highlighted frame with natural lips. Blow dry your hair and pin it to the sites with some Bobby pins that then you will hide with the rest of the hair. Use hair spray to keep them in place. A pair of coloured statement earrings will finish the look. Perfect for a date or night out.

4. The undercover punk:

Rocked by Scarlett Johansson or Rosamund Pike. Remember the shaved hair trend last year? It seems like some celebs have started it again. A perfectly brushed tuppe with ear cuff is a look to try for the wildest hearts. If you’re not ready for a dramatic cut just yet but still want to try the shave, go like Rosamund: just do the back of your neck, it will give a ballerina bun a whole other meaning.
