4 Hairstyles to Try this Summer

6 August 2014

During summer, we have to look after our hair even more. So wherever you go this summer, don't forget a good nourishing shampoo and conditioner. If you're blonde, add a purple shampoo to your beauty bag to fight the brassiness and keep a perfectly icy blonde. Keep the straighteners/hair dryer to a minimum and leave your hair out to dry.

Still, don't be afraid to try something new. Here are 4 gentle hairstyles that will keep you looking gorgeous... without leaving your hair in tatters.

Ponytail

A messy ponytail looks great any time of the day, just comb your hair with your fingers and tie it up with an elastic hair band as high as you want. Add some sea salt spray to the ends and voilà! If you have straightened your hair the day before but you want to tie it up, a low ponytail is a perfect option, wrap a lock of your hair around the hair band to hide it.

Beach wavy hair

Leave your ghd's at home and try to leave your hair in its natural state. After washing, towel dry, add some hair oil and plait it into one or two braids. Leave it to dry, undo the braids and brush it slightly. Add salt water spray to give it texture or some more oil if your hair is very dry to give it some shine. This hairstyle looks great with any length, colour or shape.

Decorate your hair

We are in love with Dolce & Gabbana fairy like hairdos. A soft bun at the nape of your neck decorated with a floral garland and vintage hair pieces is the perfect do for a wedding. A turban looks great on the beach and also protects your hair from the sun. Need some help? Check out our recent video on five ways of wearing a head scarf.

Plaited hair

It has been the season of braids, in any shape or form. A favourite is the Blake Lively classic, a high ponytail at the top of your head and plait your hair in a messy fishtail. Milkmaid braids are also great to give a sweet touch to your look. If your hair is short you can plait locks of your hair in random sizes all over for a surfer look.
