4 Shoes you need this AW18

16 August 2018

1. Statement Shoes

Bows, embellished details, feathers, massive buckles, anything is allowed, who said winter footwear should be sensible and boring? But don't misunderstand statement with uncomfort because designers were all in with helping women walk again (thanks!) as block heels, trainers and fancy flats took the centre stage at our favourite catwalks like Balenciaga or Miu Miu.

2. Animal Print

Animal print is not just about leopard, it is a big print to wear now and come AW but why only sticking to one when the animal kingdom has so much variety to offer! (BUT always go for the fake option please! animals need their clothes so don't steal from them!). Think zebra, snake, tiger print... add them to a LBD and there you go to be fierce!

3. Western feel

Bring out your inner cowboy (we all have one trust me) and add touches of the old wild west to your daily wear. Best way to do so? Add fringes to your jacket and cowboy boots to your feet. Or do it like Isabel Marant thought us and wear knee high boots with fringes running down your legs dancing while you walk. If you are more minimal than that, then you can always go for the futuristic take on the trend as seen in Calvin Klein.

4. Bold Prints

This is not a season to shy away from prints, you can wear them head to toe or only add them to your accessories. Don't you miss them though as the fashion shows taught us this is not a season to be simple or to stick to black as a norm. Prints are big and prints are bold. Balenciaga experimented with '60s prints: checks, gingham or pop art florals. Simone Rocha cater for those with a punk attitude with tartan printed brogues and Chloé '70s inspired printed boots were paired with earthy tones advocating once more to those bohemian souls.
