“But how do you wear that in real life?” It’s true, sometimes a collection can be hard to decipher, at the end of the day what you see on the catwalk is the highest expression of fashion, the artists exposing their pieces to enlighten the editors, the fashionistas, to make us all dream a little, to escape the world of ‘jeans and a t-shirt’ for a few minutes.
However, if you look closely, you can find clues on how to transmit those masterpiece outfits into your everyday looks.
For Autumn/Winter’s ready-to-wear Dior collection, Maria Grazia Chiuri gave us a woman ready for the NOW. She reworked the New Look midis with a bit of asymmetry and sometimes paired it with sporty jackets, other times with armoured-like corsets. Floor-sweeping lace and tulle gowns were mixed with oversized chunky knits and checked tweed and structured trench coats were finished off with stompy boots.
Delicate and ethereal blended with the every day to look forward to a time when women will rule the world and well suited for it they will be.
