Be the Best Wedding Guest

4 May 2018

It’s wedding season!! We know, you’re excited to spend yet another summer being sweaty and forced to celebrate love. Fear not, Estilistas readers, at least you will look good; high street has a variety of options for any location! Whether you’re stuck outside in the heat or celebrating in a church, we have created your go-to wedding dress guide. While white is always a no-no, spring trends of lace, color blocks, and florals will continue through summer. We promise you won’t take too much attention away from the bride!

This lace dress from H&M is perfect for an outdoor wedding. With five color options ranging from navy, and red, to lilac, it flatters every skin tone and the is figure flattering for all sizes. You can pair it with a denim jacket and it can easily being worn again for date night or a weekend with the girls. Complete this outfit with a straw bag and a simple cardigan and you will be happy to be in someone else’s photos for eternity.

With a steal at £65.00, we recommend this V-neck blue number from Topshop. The ruffles and elegant pattern create sophistication while fun lattice work and trim keep it from being basic. This dress is far from traditional wedding attire!  When paired with colorful tights and kitten heels, any nan will want to set you up with their cheeky grandson.

With a vibrant pink color and a high-low hem this is the perfect spring to summer dress for any wedding guest. From Coast, this flower petal dress is gorgeous and is a fun twist on the traditional floral print. You can pair this with nude wedges and cat-eye sunglasses for a spring look you will want to wear again! With a pricier tag of £195, it’s an investment. However, we believe dresses like this cannot be ignored! We promise you will feel like a beautiful flower on the dance floor!

For a more understated floral ensemble, we recommend this sheer green midi dress from Topshop! In a breathable material and casual pattern, you can wear this look for a morning wedding and immediately go to brunch (they never feed you enough at weddings anyways!). We love a cute ankle boot and stacked bracelets to complete this casual wedding guest look.

I know we shouldn’t be biased, but this Mango dress has asked us to marry it and we’ve happily said yes! With a forgiving silhouette and contrasting color block of navy and teal, we will use this dress all season long. It can be dressed up with pumps or wedges or dressed down with a denim jacket and sandals. The flatter cut of the color blocking will hide any extra cake you’ve eaten after the 8th wedding this month, and you will still feel like the hippest guest at the reception.

The bridesmaids will wish they were you in this dress from Next! With delicate black lace detailing on the sleeves, the black makes this white dress perfectly acceptable to wear to a wedding (at least we think so!) For more formal occasions, pair with black or a one color heel. This dress could also be worn in the fall and winter when paired with simple studs and black pumps or booties. The silhouette is flattering for curves, just make sure you don’t spill any wine while dancing away!
