Dress to Impress

18 January 2013

Having one of those days where you feel like your wardrobe is against you? Do you have hundreds of clothes but still nothing to wear? Well, I like to think that a dress is always the answer to most of our styling issues.

The LBD (little black dress), for example is a fashion saviour for those dinners, cocktails or parties where you don't really know the dress code.

Choose something that fits you perfectly depending on your shape, that it is easy to maintain (no dry cleaning or special ironing), and it is also of good quality. Play with colour in shoes, accessories and make up depending on the occasion and you will see how this versatile dress will literally save your fashion life in more than one occasion.

The Tea dress. The Alexa Chung special. Pretty dress with a cute print and a A-line shape.
This dress is the best option for weekend wear. It will make you feel comfortable and beautiful. Choose a pair of cute flats if the weather is nice, and a chunky knit cardigan. If it is raining wear it with a pair of lace up boots or wellies and some warm socks.
The Bodycon Dress. The body conscious dress.
Yes, it does sounds scary putting it that way, but this is a kind of dress for the lucky ones with good curves and not afraid of showing them off. Wear it for a night out with killer heels or for a hot date with a blazer. Your hips will definitely not lie.
The Maxi Dress.
If you are short, wear it with a little bit of heel and a slash to one side, so it will make you look taller. Floral Maxi dresses with sandals are a chic option for summer days. A maxi dress with a jumper and boots is a great outfit for the cold days too.
