H&M Conscious collection 2014

26 March 2014

Now, more than ever, it seems like there is a big environmental awareness among fashion houses. A lot of them are using ways of producing clothes that are 'eco-friendly.' Even though this produces items that are a bit more pricey, it encourages us to keep in mind and act on the poor state of our planet.

H&M latest collection, Conscious, is made with more sustainable materials such as organic cotton, recycled polyester, recycled polyamide and Tencel, which is a biodegradable fabric derived from wood pulp. New materials such as organic leather and silk have also been added.

"There is a movement for everything in fashion to become more sustainable, more responsible, and it is important for companies like H&M to take steps and be leaders," says Amber Valleta.

Earthy tones and beautifully made lace and embroidered pieces, the H&M Conscious collection is dreamy, a mix between bohemian and folklore, if you know what I mean. One of the most stunning and rare pieces is a "matador" style jacket - I can see myself already wearing it with jeans. This gorgeous collection is clearly going to fly off the shelves on the global launch on 10th April.
