How to wear coloured snake print and get away with it

1 December 2015

The must-have animal prints for every Autumn/Winter are leopard and snake, those rare and beautiful members of the animal kingdom. This season, Chloé mastered the mini dresses and Miu Miu injected bright colour in the print for a fresh new way to wear the trend, while Marni focused on adding this wild print to waist belts and shoes. But how can we wear coloured snake print without looking tacky or cheap when we can't afford to invest in Chloé or Miu Miu?.

I was quite excited when I received a stunning pair of coloured snake print shoes from Online Avenue. The blue and green hue plus the lace up detail puts them spot on trend, perfect to update any simple outfit into AW 15/16 territory.

My style is quite effortless and comfortable so I choose to wear mine with my favourite pair of leather trousers that I bought last year at Zara and a vintage chunky knit jumper that I stole from my mum. Leather trousers are not easy to pull off when you have a pair of hips that 'don't lie' and a Kardashian worthy derriére like mine, but this pair from Zara are slightly loose fit and high waisted, so they give the look that easy-going feel that I like.

Less is more when wearing snake print accessories so to complete the look I wear a Michael Kors watch and my beloved Chanel bag.

Alternatively, this gorgeous pair of statement shoes will be the perfect match to a simple Little Black Dress for the party season. If you're not a fan of snake print, get your Kaya Lace up shoes in black or white.

They also have a huge selection of boots, like the Jackeline knee-length boots with a square heel and gold detail perfect for achieving that '60s look that's so in right now, with plenty of different materials and colours to choose from.

If you're looking for gorgeous on-trend footwear on a budget, be sure to check Online Avenue.
