London, Tuesday 26th of August, it's been raining all day, I don't see the sun, and I just received my new pair of Ipanema flip flops, life hey!.
If there's anything you should know about me, it's that I am a summer girl. And I'm living in a European rainforest kind of city.
Every year - full of hope - I buy a pair of flip flops, as a reminder of who I once was, a beach chick who didn't know what 'wellies' were, or didn't even own an umbrella.
So, when my pair of Ipanema flip flops arrived, I had mixed feelings. They are absolutely gorgeous: a two toned purple colour with the famous Ipanema Beach tiles embossed onto the super soft anatomic Melflex plastic sole - a patented, hypo-allergenic, recyclable, and extremely flexible PVC. But, will I even be able to wear them due to this atrocious weather?
"If life gives you lemons, make lemonade!" So despite everything I haven't stopped wearing them since they arrived. I don't care about the bewildered look people have when they see me, wondering why my little toes are all cold and wet. These flip flops are just too comfy. And what's a bit of rain on your toes? It's basically the same feeling as walking down the beach with the waves gently lapping at your feet... right?
I will keep telling myself it's still August and therefore still summer, according to my calendar. So I refuse to take them off! They make me feel like Gisele Bundchen (who incidentally has her own line of Ipanema flips flops). And who knows, maybe I will even start a new autumn trend... socks and flips flops anyone?
Get your Ipanema flip flops now and wear them for your summer holiday... or join me in taking over London town, feet first.
