The Oscars: The Couture Gowns that could have been, but never were

25 February 2015

If you have been keeping up with all the Oscars run-downs of the best dressed (and worst), you've probably realised that most journalists/bloggers have come to the conclusion that The Oscars, 2015 edition, has not spectacularly wowed us - the ones that pretty much only watch the ceremony to admire the fashion, the stylists choices and the smoking hot bodies wearing those choices. Especially after only a month since Couture fashion week where we admire the designs and wonder who will be the lucky star to be making an appearance on the red carpet with it.

Some of these dream gowns should have had a glorious moment at the Academy Awards ceremony Sunday night. Because they didn't (sob), we want to give them a tiny, humble recognition from our blog. You will always be in our hearts.

Can you imagine Jennifer Aniston in that Versace figure-flattering red number? Or fashionista Sienna Miller in a gorgeous Giambattista Valli lace dress with a veil hair piece? I would have loved to see Reese Witherspoon in a bright colour like this gorgeous purple gown by Alexis Mabille. Or Julianne Moore picking up her golden statue in shimmer Valentino?

Ah, what could have been...
